QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – A judge sentenced a 47-year-old Quakertown man who trafficked meth and fentanyl.<\/p>\n
Common Pleas Judge Stephen A. Corr sentenced Brendan Craig Hamrick to 15 to 31 years in a state correctional institution on multiple felony drug trafficking charges, according to a news release from the Bucks County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Hamrick pleaded guilty in October to nine counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said he also pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.<\/p>\n
According to the news release, bulk methamphetamine and fentanyl sales were facilitated through Hamrick\u2019s cell phone.<\/p>\n
In two controlled purchases in March 2022, Hamrick sold more than 130 grams of methamphetamine and 58 pressed fentanyl pills, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Hamrick was apprehended during a vehicle stop in May 2022. The DA\u2019s office said a search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with cocaine base and distribution-level amounts of LSD, marijuana, and MDMA.<\/p>\n
The DA\u2019s office said additional evidence recovered from the vehicle included a digital scale with residue, numerous packaging baggies, and a cellphone used to coordinate his illegal operations.<\/p>\n
During the sentencing hearing, Deputy District Attorney Thomas Gannon presented disturbing evidence from a consensual recording in which Hamrick was heard encouraging a cooperating individual to drug a supplier with GHB, which he described as the “date rape drug,” according to the news release.<\/p>\n
Hamrick claimed on the recording that he possessed the knowledge to dose an individual based on their body weight to keep them incapacitated for four to five hours, the DA\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"QUAKERTOWN, Pa. – A judge sentenced a 47-year-old Quakertown man who trafficked meth and fentanyl.
