{"id":79417,"date":"2026-01-06T17:54:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T17:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/79417\/"},"modified":"2026-01-06T17:54:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T17:54:07","slug":"erie-woman-found-dead-in-ohio-police-investigating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/79417\/","title":{"rendered":"Erie woman found dead in Ohio, police investigating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Investigators said a woman found dead near Akron, Ohio, was from Erie, and they\u2019re working to identify a suspect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copley, Ohio, police chief Michael Mier said officers responded around 6:30 p.m. New Year\u2019s Day, after the body of 24-year-old Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale of Erie was found in a hotel room.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">That\u2019s according to ABC affiliate WEWS in Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Mier said the medical examiner\u2019s office determined Pasquale died, \u201cas a result of a physical assault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">WEWS also reported the victim\u2019s sister told them Shawnna came to Copley about a month ago and was living at the hotel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">No one has been charged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
