They were taken to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The dog was shot and killed by police. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A neighbor has taken in another dog that was in the home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The official said the home was found to be in deplorable conditions.
