COPLEY, Ohio \u2014 Copley detectives are investigating after an out-of-state woman was found dead in a hotel on Rothrock Loop on New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

According to Copley Police Chief Michael Mier, officers responded to the hotel around 6:30 p.m. after the body of 24-year-old Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale, of Erie, Pennsylvania, was found in one of the rooms. <\/p>\n

Mier said the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Pasquale died “as a result of a physical assault.”<\/p>\n

The victim’s sister, Rachel Pasquale, said Shawnna came to Copley about a month ago and was living in the hotel. <\/p>\n

Rachel said her sister had a big heart and always saw the good in people. The family is now looking for answers and calling for justice.<\/p>\n

“I can’t believe it myself because of how sweet of an individual she was and for someone to put that much aggression towards her… I need to know why. I need to know what made you that angry that you could take someone’s life with your bare hands,” Rachel said.<\/p>\n

No one has been charged. Police are following leads as they work to identify a possible suspect.<\/p>\n
