A New York man threatened his girlfriend with a handgun during a fight over finances and infidelity early Tuesday, police said.<\/p>\n
Kevin Graham, 36, of Brooklyn, faces charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, Scranton officers were called to a Summit Pointe Drive residence just after midnight on Tuesday for the report of a domestic assault in which a man was attempting to leave the scene.<\/p>\n
When police arrived, they spoke with Susette Holman, who said Graham pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her.<\/p>\n
Officer John Sweeney spotted Graham in the back of the building, began following him and called for backup.<\/p>\n
Officers stopped Graham as he was walking on Business Route 6 and detained him.<\/p>\n
Police then spoke with Holman, who said the couple had been arguing for several days over finances and infidelity.<\/p>\n
Holman said the two had begun arguing several hours earlier, and Graham put her in a headlock and choked her.<\/p>\n
Holman said Graham then went into the bedroom, came back with a .22 caliber pistol, pointed it at her and threatened to kill them both.<\/p>\n
As Holman was calling police, Graham fled.<\/p>\n
Graham said the two had been fighting but said he hadn\u2019t pulled a gun and didn\u2019t own one.<\/p>\n
Police could not locate a firearm or confirm Graham owned one.<\/p>\n
Officers found a bottle containing 25 molly pills during a search of Graham.\u00a0When asked what they were, Graham said they were something he could go to jail for.<\/p>\n
Graham remains at the Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
