{"id":8165,"date":"2025-10-19T16:13:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-19T16:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/8165\/"},"modified":"2025-10-19T16:13:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-19T16:13:11","slug":"teen-headed-to-trial-in-shooting-death-of-reading-woman-berks-regional-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/8165\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen headed to trial in shooting death of Reading woman | Berks Regional News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>READING, Pa. &#8211; A teen charged in the murder of a 30-year-old Reading woman is headed to trial, authorities say.<\/p>\n<p>18-year-old Henry Mendoza pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the June 15, 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfmz.com\/news\/area\/berks\/teen-facing-homicide-charges-in-death-of-30-year-old-woman\/article_f630f354-11f3-11ee-81ea-5facb146a51a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">murder of Natalie Classen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Police allege Mendoza shot Classen on the corner of N. 10th &amp; Greenwich Streets. She later died at the hospital. Mendoza, 17 at the time, was charged as an adult.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of Classen&#8217;s murder, Mendoza was already facing charges that stemmed from a June 11, 2023 shooting near 13th and Green streets that left a 22-year-old man and 15-year-old boy with serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators allege Mendoza and 44-year-old Bonef Hassell were the shooters in that case.
