Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry knew he had to be better this season after last year\u2019s disappointment, which saw him get put on waivers and sent down to the AHL.<\/p>\n
Entering this season, Jarry knew he had to improve to help Pittsburgh get more wins this season.<\/p>\n
Ahead of the season, Jarry said his goal was to have better starts and put the Penguins in a position to win. On Saturday, Jarry did just that as he stopped all 31 shots he faced as Pittsburgh shut out the San Jose Sharks 3-0.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the things I wanted to improve on from last year was improving my starts,\u201d Jarry said<\/a> postgame on Saturday. \u201cImproving my starts for the team. I think this year, I\u2019ve done a good job of that.\u201d<\/p>\n With the shutout win, Jarry improved to 2-1 with a 2.35 GAA and a .922 SV% this season, a major improvement from last year\u2019s struggles. The 30-year-old was pleased with his performance, as was Penguins head coach Dan Muse.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n Muse believes Pittsburgh is starting to build something special and is impressed with the early stages of the season.<\/p>\n \u201cThe season is still really young. We are still in the early stages, but we are seeing some of that foundation being built of what we want to continue to build on,\u201d Muse said.<\/p>\n The Penguins improved to 4-2 on the season with the win Saturday. Pittsburgh will return to the ice Tuesday when they host the Vancouver Canucks.<\/p>\n
