U. SAUCON TWP., Pa. – Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said\u00a0no charges have been filed at this point, as authorities continued to investigate a suspicious device that was found at\u00a0the Wawa on Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Holihan said the FBI\u00a0investigated the incident Wednesday.<\/p>\n
An investigation continues into what the device was and whether it was a danger, or just a public inconvenience, Holihan said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Police, fire crews and the bomb squad responded the Wawa in Upper Saucon Township on Tuesday. Crews were sent to the store on Route 309 after a 911 call was made shortly before 12:30 p.m., according to county dispatchers.<\/p>\n
Authorities say an uninvolved customer walked by a vehicle in the store’s parking lot and saw a suspicious device on the passenger seat.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, police secured the perimeter and requested assistance from the Allentown Bomb Squad. The bomb squad took away the device.<\/p>\n
The area was closed off for hours.<\/p>\n
Authorities say no threat was made toward Wawa or the public.<\/p>\n
