LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police say\u00a0a man from Berks County was under the influence of drugs and alcohol when his minivan hit a horse and buggy, causing the death of its driver.<\/p>\n
Danial Miller, 33, of\u00a0Mertztown, is charged with\u00a0Homicide by Vehicle While DUI and multiple related DUI charges, according to a news release from state police.<\/p>\n
State police said the crash happened Wednesday on the 4000 block of Strasburg Road in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County.\u00a0<\/p>\n
An investigation determined that a Dodge Caravan was traveling east on Strasburg Road when it collided with the rear of the horse and buggy, state police said.<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0state police,\u00a0the collision caused the 65-year-old woman who was driving the horse and buggy to be ejected.<\/p>\n
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the\u00a0news release.<\/p>\n
State police said the minivan’s driver was identified as Miller.
