Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 asked Mayor Corey O’Connor if he would authorize ICE in the city of Pittsburgh. “No, we stand by it. We will not do that, and our acting (police) chief is on the same page with us,” O’Connor said. “We said it throughout the campaign. We’ve said it in office. We are not going to have that partnership in Pittsburgh.”On Wednesday, he said his office spoke with the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the Democratic Mayors Association.”I spoke with Mayor (Justin) Bibb, from Cleveland, who’s the head of that, yesterday, just to try to get all mayors on the same page. And it’s difficult. Different cities and states are all doing different things. But, you know, we stand by that. We will not have a partnership.”O’Connor said he wants the city of Pittsburgh to remain a welcoming one. “We want people to come to Pittsburgh. We’ve said it on multiple occasions.
