READING, Pa. \u2013 An organization that supports future baseball stars is getting a boost from a local leader.<\/p>\n

State Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz presented a check to \u201cLatin Fusion Baseball\u201d on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The $60,000 in state grant funding will support the group’s youth Little League and tournament participation.<\/p>\n

The group plans to compete in Puerto Rico next month. It’s also working to bring college scouts out to meet with the players.<\/p>\n

According to its website, the organization aims to train elite athletes who will become leaders in their community.<\/p>\n

In November, the group announced on social media<\/a> that it formed a new international affiliation with the Ontorio Rockies Academy in Canada and the Caribbean Bad Boys in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
