Bridge Specialty Group, a subsidiary of Florida-based Brown & Brown, Inc., has acquired the assets of Shoemaker & Besser, a managing general agent and wholesale insurance brokerage located in York, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
The announcement said that Shoemaker & Besser team will continue to operate from York, reporting to Jason Haupt, regional president of Bridge Specialty Group\u2019s Mid-Atlantic and Delta region.<\/p>\n
Shoemaker & Besser owners Jack Brubaker, president, and Allan Boyd, vice president, said the retail agents their firm serves will \u201cenjoy a very broad market reach both in personal and commercial lines to help them address their customers\u2019 needs\u201d as a result of the deal.<\/p>\n
Anurag Batta<\/a>, president of Bridge Specialty Group, said the merger will enhance his firm\u2019s contract binding and light brokerage business.<\/p>\n Bridge Specialty Group, a division of Arrowhead Intermediaries, is an insurance wholesaler with a nearly $7 billion premium book, more than 50 locations and 2,000 employees.
