A warm and wet weather system will bring temperatures well above normal and widespread rain to the Lehigh Valley from Friday afternoon through Saturday night. Residents can expect temperatures climbing into the mid 40s to low 50s with periods of showers.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service<\/a> forecast indicates rain will begin Friday afternoon, with the first round of showers arriving between 4 and 9 p.m. <\/p>\n

Temperatures will be significantly above normal, ranging 10 to 15 degrees higher than typical January conditions. While most precipitation will be light, some areas may experience brief thunderstorms, though severe weather is not anticipated.<\/p>\n

Saturday will feature more consistent rainfall, with precipitation potentially becoming heavier in the afternoon and evening. Total rainfall amounts are expected to range from half an inch to one inch through Sunday morning across the region.<\/p>\n

A significant shift will occur Sunday, with west to northwest winds gusting between 30 and 45 mph, particularly in the Poconos. Temperatures will drop dramatically into the 30s, with overnight lows plummeting into the 20s.<\/p>\n

The extended forecast indicates dry and cooler weather through Thursday. Residents should be prepared for the rapid temperature changes and have rain gear ready for the weekend.<\/p>\n
