\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Nancy Ann (Spencer) Shirey, 93, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away on January 6, 2026,<\/p>\n
at the Birdsboro Lodge where she has been a resident since February 2024. Born at<\/p>\n
home, in Seyfert, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ethel Marie (Lengel) Spencer<\/p>\n
and the late James Spencer. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer R. Shirey.<\/p>\n
Nancy worked her entire life and was employed by the Daniel Boone Area School<\/p>\n
District starting in 1971 and retired at the young age of 79 in 2011. She also worked for<\/p>\n
Happel Lumber and Supply. She loved the Philadelphia Phillies and was an avid reader.<\/p>\n
Surviving Nancy are 1 daughter, Jody L. Rhoads, wife of Michael Rhoads of<\/p>\n
Birdsboro, PA and 1 son, Jeffrey A, Shirey, husband of Beverly Miller, Huntingtown, MD;<\/p>\n
3 grandchildren, Jennifer Blevins, Ian Jones and Chris Shirey; and great grandchildren,<\/p>\n
Darren Krall, Wesley and Taylor Blevins and Nicholas Shirey. She is also survived by a<\/p>\n
sister, MaryLou Happel of Birdsboro, PA and 2 godchildren, Trish (Care) Fox and Philip<\/p>\n
Care of Geigertown, PA.<\/p>\n
Nancy was predeceased by her sisters, Jessie and Geraldine and her brother, Richard<\/p>\n
James Spencer.<\/p>\n
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 2:00pm at the<\/p>\n
Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA<\/p>\n
19508. A visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the funeral home, prior to the service.<\/p>\n
