Central Catholic (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>2. North Allegheny (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>3. Norwin (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>4. Canon-McMillan (4-5)<\/p>\n<p>5. Mt. Lebanon (2-7)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0Central Catholic remains on top after routing Seneca Valley, 48-6, while North Allegheny took one of its worst losses in school history against Pine-Richland, 67-0. Norwin is now all but assured of a playoff berth following a 24-21 win against Canon-McMillan, and Mt. Lebanon moves into the No. 5 spot after a 28-6 win over Hempfield.<\/p>\n<p>Class 5A<\/p>\n<p>1. Pine-Richland (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>2. Peters Township (9-0)<\/p>\n<p>3. Woodland Hills (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>4. Penn-Trafford (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>5. Moon (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0Pine-Richland turned plenty of heads with a 67-0 beatdown against perennial powerhouse North Allegheny in a non-conference clash, while Peters Township put up its own lopsided shutout win at Baldwin, 61-0. \u2026 Woodland Hills and Penn-Trafford each moved up one spot after vanquishing Franklin Regional and Armstrong, respectively \u2014\u00a0and for the first time all year, say hello to Moon! The Tigers knocked off then-No. 3 Upper St. Clair in double overtime, 20-13.<\/p>\n<p>Class 4A<\/p>\n<p>1. McKeesport (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>2. Thomas Jefferson (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>3. Mars (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>4. New Castle (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>5. Montour (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0McKeesport racked up 62 points in the first half on its way to tallying a school-record 74 points in a 74-6 win at Indiana, while Thomas Jefferson picked up a pivotal 45-6 win at Chartiers Valley. \u2026 Mars thumped Hampton, 45-10, and New Castle blasted Ambridge, 56-7. \u2026 Meanwhile, Montour re-enters the rankings at No. 5 after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unionprogress.com\/2025\/10\/18\/montour-sophomore-qb-brandon-bennett-leads-spartans-to-wild-comeback-win-with-second-half-onslaught-at-aliquippas-heinz-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">roaring back to defeat Aliquippa on the road, 34-20<\/a>, behind a stellar performance from sophomore quarterback Brandon Bennett.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"527\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/20251017emMontourvAliquippaFootball014.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87269\"  \/>Montour\u2019s Dylan Rogers celebrates after scoring against Aliquippa on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at Aliquippa\u2019s Heinz Field. Central Valley (5-4)<\/p>\n<p>5. Hopewell (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0Three of the five teams represented here hail from the Western Hills Conference, and you could make a case for both North Catholic and Beaver being deserving of spots, too. Surely nobody can argue against Avonworth\u2019s claim to the throne after posting yet another one-sided win, though, this time against the Trojans, 42-10. \u2026 Imani Christian kept its perfect record intact, beating Burrell, 53-7, while Elizabeth Forward shut out Southmoreland to hand the Scotties their first loss, 42-0. \u2026 Elsewhere, Central Valley rejoins the rankings after taking out Hopewell, 23-7.<\/p>\n<p>Class 2A<\/p>\n<p>1. South Allegheny (8-0)<\/p>\n<p>2. Seton LaSalle (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>3. Washington (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>4. Western Beaver (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>5. Apollo-Ridge (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0The WPIAL\u2019s only classification without any changes, as South Allegheny kept on rolling with a 64-14 rout over Sto-Rox, while Seton LaSalle and Washington both posted shutout victories to set up a must-see matchup between the Rebels and Little Prexies for the Century Conference crown in the regular-season finale. \u2026 Western Beaver held on for a 20-14 win against New Brighton, and Apollo-Ridge battled past South Park, 45-34.<\/p>\n<p>Class 1A<\/p>\n<p>1. Fort Cherry (9-0)<\/p>\n<p>2. Clairton (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>3. Bishop Canevin (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>4. Laurel (8-1)<\/p>\n<p>5. South Side (7-2)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0Fort Cherry remained unbeaten with a 42-0 romp against Shenango in a non-conference affair, while Clairton collected its seventh consecutive shutout against Riverview on Saturday, 66-0. \u2026 Bishop Canevin cruised past Monessen, 44-7, and Laurel dominated South Side, 45-7, to stake its claim to the Big 7 Conference championship.<\/p>\n<p>City League<\/p>\n<p>1. University Prep (6-2)<\/p>\n<p>2. Westinghouse (6-3)<\/p>\n<p>3. Allderdice (4-5)<\/p>\n<p>The skinny:\u00a0The City League championship game is all set for Saturday afternoon, as three-time defending champion Westinghouse advanced to its eighth consecutive title game with a 26-6 victory over Allderdice on Thursday.
