\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Catherine V. Wentzel, 88, of Laureldale, died January 3, 2026 in Tower Health \/ Reading Hospital.<\/p>\n
She was the widow of Richard D. Wentzel, who died March 22, 2023.<\/p>\n
Born in her Reading, Pearl Street residence on December 23, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Susanna (Posivak) Dutko.<\/p>\n
Catherine was a 1955 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School.<\/p>\n
She was employed as a keypunch operator for 7 years with American Casualty, Reading, retiring in 1962.<\/p>\n
Catherine volunteered in the social hall at Central Fire Company, Laureldale.<\/p>\n
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.<\/p>\n
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. (Wentzel), wife of Robert Mitchell of Muhlenberg Township.<\/p>\n
She was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters: Christina L. Mitchell, Kimberley M. Mitchell, and Sarah L. Mitchell.<\/p>\n
Other survivors include a sister, Helen E. (Dutko), widow of Donald E. Graczyk of Laureldale; three nephews; and two nieces.<\/p>\n
Catherine was predeceased by a nephew and three siblings: Mary Dutko; John A. Dutko; and Sophie C. McDevitt.<\/p>\n
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 9th at 11:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605.<\/p>\n
A viewing will be held Friday from 10:00 \u2013 11:00 am in the church.<\/p>\n
Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the above address.<\/p>\n
