Abington Heights\u2019 Hayden Manning and Lackawanna Trail\u2019s Cidney Schaffer secured girls wrestling tournament titles Saturday.<\/p>\n
Manning, a freshman, won her title match in a 9-6 sudden victory over Emmaus\u2019 Olivya Kroope, who is ranked sixth in the state according to PA Power Wrestling, for the 155-pound crown at the Souderton Big Red Girls Individual at Souderton High School.<\/p>\n
She also pinned Souderton\u2019s Emily Hernandez, ranked 16th in the state, and Bensalem\u2019s Raegan Crawford and rolled to a technical fall of Neshaminy\u2019s Annette Barry, ranked ninth in the state, in the semifinals. Ranked 19th in the state, Manning is 13-0 with eight pins this season.<\/p>\n
Schaffer, also a freshman, dominated with four first-period pins en route to the 100-pound title at the Southern Tier Memorial at LECOM Event Center in Elmira, New York.<\/p>\n
The Lady Lions freshman is ranked second in the state at 100.<\/p>\n

Abington Heights\u2019 Mason Whitney went 6-1 with four tech falls, one major decision and one decision to claim third at 133 at the Mid-Winter Mayhem tournament Saturday at Kovalchick Convention Complex at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
His only loss came to Trinity\u2019s Will Detar, who is ranked second in the state at 133 in Class 2A according to PA Power Wrestling, by 1-0 decision. He defeated Altoona\u2019s Braiden Weaver, who is ranked fourth in the state at 133 in Class 3A. Whitney, who is ranked fifth in the state at 133 in Class 3A, is 31-3 this season.<\/p>\n
Freshman Dakota Sandy (114) went 5-2 with three pins, one tech fall and one decision for a seventh-place finish, as the Comets placed 20th out of 57 teams.<\/p>\n
West Scranton\u2019s Tommy Schechterly (160) went 5-2 to place fourth, and Mid Valley\u2019s Matthew Almedina went 4-3 to finish sixth.<\/p>\n
Southern Tier Memorial: At LECOM Event Center in Elmira, New York, Lackawanna Trail\u2019s Mark Rebmann (144) went 5-1 with three pins and two major decisions to place third at the Southern Tier Memorial.<\/p>\n
Riley Borruso (132) went 6-2 to place seventh, as the Lions finished 22nd out of 38 teams.<\/p>\n
Jake Barrett (138) and Jordan Henning (285) each went 4-3 to secured sixth-place finishes, as Scranton Prep finished 25th.<\/p>\n
Great Valley Duals: At Great Valley High School, Wallenpaupack went 4-2, defeating Great Valley (48-18), Archbishop Ryan (56-15), Northern Lebanon (32-28) and Episcopal Academy (58-16) and losing to North Penn (44-16) and Spring Grove (42-26), at the Great Valley Duals.<\/p>\n
