\u201cFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your loyalty and support over the past six years,\u201d the announcement on the business\u2019 Facebook page<\/a>\u00a0reads.<\/p>\n \u201cYour families, your celebrations, your smiles, your gatherings, and your special occasions with us made Casa Catrina a truly special place for our family. We appreciate your understanding during this transition, and we extend a warm thank you to My Tequila House for opening their doors to our beloved customers.\u201d<\/p>\n In the weeks leading up to Casa Catrina\u2019s permanent closure announcement, door signage had indicated the restaurant was temporarily closed.<\/p>\n On Dec. 22, the owners posted their \u201cdifficult decision\u201d to not reopen the restaurant on the business’ Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cDespite our best efforts to reopen and continue serving our community, circumstances have led us to make this difficult decision,\u201d the Dec. 22 announcement reads.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want to express our deepest gratitude to all our customers, friends, and supporters who have been with us over these six wonderful years of operation. Your loyalty, kindness, and encouragement meant the world to us and made Casa Catrina a special place.\u201d<\/p>\n Husband and wife Humberto and Elia Chavolla, who previously owned the former Fiesta Ol\u00e9 restaurant on Lehigh Street in Emmaus, in March 2020 opened Casa Catrina at a prominent restaurant site at Brookside and Lower Macungie roads.<\/p>\n Over the years, the Lower Macungie building also housed other dining establishments, including Don Juan Mex Grill & Cantina and Stoned Crab.<\/p>\n Casa Catrina, featuring seating for around 140 customers on two floors, offered authentic, made-to-order Mexican specialties such as flautas, nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, chimichangas and churros.<\/p>\n Guests could also enjoy beer, wine and cocktails from the restaurant\u2019s full bar.<\/p>\n \u201cThank you for allowing us to be part of your celebrations, your family moments, and your everyday life,\u201d the closing announcement continues. \u201cWe will always be grateful for the memories we created together.\u201d<\/p>\n Within an hour, the closing announcement had garnered more than a dozen comments, primarily from individuals extending warm wishes to the owners and staff.<\/p>\n \u201cSorry to see you go!\u201d one person wrote. \u201cYou will be deeply missed. I wish you all the best.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are so sorry to hear!\u201d another person commented. \u201cWe loved Casa Catrina!\u201d<\/p>\n The South Whitehall location of My Tequila House, another full-service restaurant offering authentic Mexican cuisine, opened in February 2025<\/a> on Crackersport Road.<\/p>\n The second location of My Tequila House operates at 4558 Crackersport Road in South Whitehall Township.<\/p>\n Ryan Kneller<\/p>\n It supplements My Tequila House\u2019s original location, which owner Alejandro Ramirez opened in 2010 at a former Pizza Hut building at 1808 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.<\/p>\n The South Whitehall location of My Tequila House operates about five miles north of the former Casa Catrina restaurant.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
