Authorities are investigating an incident that happened Sunday evening at a former facility owned by Good Shepherd Rehabilitation<\/a> in Allentown.<\/a><\/p>\n

The incident happened sometime before 7:30 p.m. at the building, 850 S. 5th Street. Good Shepherd representatives posted just before 9 p.m. on the network\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> they were \u201caware of and cooperating with the Allentown Police Department on an isolated incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Good Shepherd representatives stated the building is no longer operational and the incident doesn\u2019t involve any current patients, residents or employees. <\/p>\n

City Police Capt. Christopher Diehl told lehighvalleylive.com Monday morning the investigation is continuing. Authorities planned to release more information about the incident later Monday.<\/p>\n

Good Shepherd\u2019s South Fifth Street facility shuttered in summer 2023. That\u2019s when the rehabilitation network moved its hospital <\/a>to a new 23,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art inpatient facility in Upper Saucon.<\/p>\n

The Morning Call newspaper reports<\/a> the former property currently houses various administrative offices, as well as the Raker Center, a long-term care facility on St. John Street.
