Employee-owned refractory services provider, ONEX Inc. is celebrating 60 years of business. The business has recently acquired Upstate Refractory Services, Inc. which will allow the business to extend operations into New York further reinforcing its ability to serve more industrial customers throughout the Northeast region.<\/p>\n
Starting on Jan. 1 Upstate Refractory Services will operate as ONEX\u2019s New York location. The operations will ensure that customers and employees receive continuity. The addition broadens the businesses coverage for customers receiving products from ONEX.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpstate\u2019s decision to sell to ONEX reflects a shared belief in long-term thinking and people-centric leadership,\u201d said Patrick Laskey, President and CEO of ONEX, Inc. \u201cThis acquisition allows us to grow responsibly while supporting our team and customers who made Upstate what it is today.\u201d<\/p>\n
The existing leadership will continue for the Upstate Team. Krista Nolan will be General Manager of the new location with her brother Bryan and Jason Wetmore will remain in their key roles.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s new is the added support, resources, and long-term expansion opportunity that come with being part of an employee-owned organization.\u201d<\/p>\n
This expansion will allow for ONEX to support the continuous increased demand for refractory solutions continues to grow.<\/p>\n
Throughout 2026 the integration will continue including brand alignment updates and long-term planning throughout all ONEX locations allowing for a seamless transition for customers and employees.<\/p>\n
