(WPVI) &#8212; A woman was shot and wounded by a police officer at a former rehabilitation facility in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">It happened at a former Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital at 850 S. Fifth Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The Lehigh County District Attorney&#8217;s Office said that police and emergency services were called to help a woman who appeared to be in distress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">When they approached her, investigators say the woman brandished a knife and threatened first responders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">She was then shot once by an officer. The woman survived the shooting and is being treated at a local hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Her name has not been released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">The D.A.&#8217;s office said the woman is not a patient or resident of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation.<br class=\" \"\/><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
