{"id":85049,"date":"2026-01-12T23:48:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T23:48:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/85049\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T23:48:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T23:48:06","slug":"bensalem-teacher-earns-1000-scholarship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/85049\/","title":{"rendered":"Bensalem Teacher Earns $1,000 Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 A township teacher is the first-ever winner of the $1000 NextUp Transition Program Scholarship, school officials announced.<\/p>\n<p>Bensalem High School teacher Chelsea Root won for her proposal involving the purchase and use of 24-hour pick-up lockers on the Bensalem High School campus. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article-subscribe\"><a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/pennsylvania\/bensalem\/subscribe?utm_source=amp&amp;utm_campaign=subscribe&amp;utm_medium=mobile&amp;utm_term=subscribe_in_article\" class=\"article-subscribe-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This will allow Root and the OWLS Transition program team the ability to extend their student-led businesses to members of the Bensalem community, school officials said.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to Root, the NextUp Team wrote, \u201cThe OWLS Transition program stood out for its<br \/>innovativeness, creativity, and sustainability, and we are inspired by the meaningful ways your students are developing real-world skills.
