The faire\u2019s storyline takes place in the year 1562, when the 28-year-old queen makes her first trip to the Shire of Mount Hope.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis actor must be energetic, gracious, commanding, and have a wry wit,\u201d according to an informational page on the faire\u2019s website. \u201cOur Queen takes her role very seriously but is able to enjoy and find humor in whatever is thrown on their way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Video auditions should include a comedic monologue and a folk song performed a cappella. Applicants are also welcome to submit reels showcasing fight\/dance\/movement experience, improv\/sketch comedy experience and other styles or vocal or instrumental performance.<\/p>\n
Want to be part of the faire, but not sure you have \u201cqueen energy\u201d? Organizers are also looking for actors to be part of musical, stunt and theatrical performances as part of the Bacchanalian Cast, and actors to bring the working Tudor village to life as part of the Blackfryar Cast. (No prior theater experience is necessary to be part of the Blackfryar Cast.) Bacchanalian Cast auditions take place on Feb. 13, and Blackfryar Cast auditions take place Feb. 22, both in person at Mount Hope Estate.
