The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding have announced the 2026 Pennsylvania Ag & Youth Grant Program.<\/p>\n
This is a statewide initiative that supports youth-centered agricultural education and workforce development.<\/p>\n
The announcement was welcomed by State Senator Dan Laughlin, and he highlighted the two projects within Erie County that will receive funding through this initiative.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Ag & Youth Grant Program is an important investment in the next generation of agricultural leaders,\u201d Laughlin said. \u201cThese grants support hands-on learning, workforce development, and real-world skills that help prepare young people for future careers while strengthening our local agricultural community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Ag & Youth Grant Program provides matching and direct grants for projects that focus on agricultural education, leadership development, vocational training, safety programs, field trips, and capital improvements or equipment purchases.<\/p>\n
2026 Ag & Youth Grant Awards \u2013 Erie County<\/p>\n
Groundwork Erie \u2013 4th Street Farm Expansion and Education: Award of $7,487<\/p>\n
Eco-Erie LLC \u2013 Water and Sanitation Upgrade for Youth Agricultural Training: Award of $25,000<\/p>\n
Through these grants the funded projects will allow access to agricultural education opportunities for youth, enhance training environments, and support long-term workforce readiness in Erie County.<\/p>\n
