\n\tThis latest lottery is swapping a big cash prize for some big whiskey.<\/p>\n

Pennsylvania is now holding three different lotteries that will offer up unicorn bottles of Pappy Van Winkle<\/a>, Buffalo Trace<\/a>, and E.H. Taylor, the state\u2019s Liquor Control Board (LCB) announced yesterday.<\/a> Before you race to enter, though, there is a slight catch: You must be a resident of the Keystone State to participate (or, perhaps, have a good pal living there who can enter for you).<\/p>\n

Entering the drawing will give you the chance to purchase an individual bottle of one of these bottles at a much, much lower price tag than their market value. The Buffalo Trace<\/a> lottery, for example, will offer up 324 rarities from the Antique Collection that are priced at $150. That includes Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 18 Year Old<\/a> (priced well over $1,500 at retailers); George T. Stagg Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof (which hovers around the $800 mark normally), and William Larue Weller Straight Bourbon Barrel Proof (with a price tag over $1,000, too). Other bottles up for grabs include Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel Proof\u00a0and Eagle Rare Straight Bourbon 17 Year Old.<\/p>\n

There are many more Pappy Van Winkles<\/a> to go around. The LCB will put 1,062 bottles from the famed brand on the lottery circuit, with winners having to pay anywhere from $130 to $320 to collect their prize. The star of the show, though, is Pappy Van Winkle\u2019s Family Reserve Straight Bourbon 23 Year Old, which you can snag for $450; the bottle is now going for close to $4,000 at retailers. You can also get a Family Reserve Straight Bourbon 20 Year Old, an Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade Straight Bourbon 10 Year Old, a Pappy Van Winkle\u2019s Family Reserve Straight Bourbon 15 Year Old, or a Van Winkle Special Reserve Straight Bourbon 12 Year Old.<\/p>\n

As for the E.H. drawing, participants will be able to enter for the brand\u2019s Straight Bourbon Limited Edition Bottled in Bond, priced at a cool $150.<\/p>\n

Pennsylvania residents (those 21 and older, of course) have until this Friday, January 16, to enter on the lottery\u2019s home page<\/a>. The Liquor Control Board permits only one entry per household, too. You can choose to opt into all the drawings, though, which does slightly increase your chances of enjoying a nice, rare bottle from some of Kentucky\u2019s finest.<\/p>\n
