PHILADELPHIA \u2014 The Kevin Patullo era is over. <\/p>\n

Patullo was <\/a>removed as the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>\u2019 offensive coordinator on Tuesday, days after the Super Bowl champs\u2019 season ended with a playoff loss to the 49ers. <\/p>\n

It was a rough season for Patullo and the Eagles\u2019 offense. Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, Saquon Barkley and the players struggled, too. But Patullo, in his first year as play-caller after replacing Kellen Moore, was a subject of scrutiny.<\/p>\n

Head coach Nick Sirianni is \u201copen\u201d to keeping Patullo on staff in a different role, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter<\/a>. But there will be someone new calling plays for the Eagles next season.<\/p>\n

So, who could Sirianni, owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman hire as Patullo\u2019s replacement?<\/p>\n

Here are nine candidates.<\/p>\n

Kliff Kingsbury, former Commanders OC: Kingsbury is available after parting ways with Washington. The former Arizona Cardinals and Texas Tech head coach interviewed for the Eagles\u2019 OC job ahead of the 2024 season, a job that went to Kellen Moore. Kingsbury is a Mike Leach disciple and was a former assistant to Lincoln Riley, Hurts\u2019 coach at Oklahoma. <\/p>\n

Mike McDaniel, former Dolphins HC: McDaniel, the recently-fired Miami coach, has interviews with the Titans, Ravens, Browns and Falcons for their head-coaching vacancies. But if he doesn\u2019t land a top job, the former San Francisco play-caller, known for his creativity, explosiveness and run-heavy scheme \u2014 would be a top-tier OC option. <\/p>\n

Todd Monken, former Ravens OC: Monken is one of the most experienced OCs available after John Harbaugh was fired by Baltimore. The 59-year-old coordinated Lamar Jackson\u2019s 2023 MVP season. He called plays for Georgia when it won the national title in 2021 and 2022. Monken might follow Harbaugh wherever he goes. But the Eagles would be wise to reach out. <\/p>\n

Brian Daboll, former Giants HC: The fired Giants head coach got that job in the first place after mentoring Josh Allen and calling plays for the Bills from 2018-21. Before that, Daboll was Alabama\u2019s OC in 2017 \u2014 working closely with Hurts and winning a national title with the Tide. Did Hurts like Daboll in Tuscaloosa? If he did, this could be a sensible pairing. <\/p>\n

Mike Kafka, former Giants OC: Kafka started his NFL career in Philadelphia after the Eagles drafted the former Northwestern QB in the 2010 draft. When his playing career was done, Kafka worked on Andy Reid\u2019s staff in Kansas City from 2017-21 before taking over OC duties with the Giants from 2022-25. The 38-year-old is well-regarded in coaching circles. <\/p>\n

Frank Reich, Stanford senior advisor: Would Reich return to the NFL and, more specifically, Philadelphia? The Eagles\u2019 Super Bowl-winning OC under Doug Pederson was the Colts\u2019 head coach from 2018-22. Sirianni (and Patullo) served on that staff before coming to Philly. Reich took a coaching hiatus after his HC stints in Indy and Carolina. He most recently served as Stanford\u2019s interim coach and is now in an advisory role for the Cardinal.<\/p>\n

Nathan Scheelhaase, Rams pass game coordinator: This would be the high upside play. Scheelhaase is relatively inexperienced. The 35-year-old has only one year of play-calling experience at Iowa State in 2023. But many consider him a riser in the industry. Scheelhaase was hired as an assistant with the Rams in 2024 and promoted to pass game coordinator. He would be the next of many play-callers from the Sean McVay tree. Scheelhaase was also an assistant at Iowa State from 2018-23, working under Sirianni\u2019s good friend, Matt Campbell.<\/p>\n

Thomas Brown, Patriots pass game coordinator: Brown wouldn\u2019t be as flashy of a hire as Scheelhaase, but he has the credentials. The 39-year-old has been integral in the successes of Drake Maye and the Patriots this year. Before that, he was an assistant with the Rams from 2020-22 before calling plays for the Panthers in 2023 (and making a strong impression on his players). Brown spent 2024 with the Bears before they cleaned house. <\/p>\n

Zac Robinson, former Falcons OC: Another McVay disciple, Robinson is available after Atlanta fired HC Raheem Morris. Robinson was with the Rams from 2019-23 before joining the Falcons, where he called plays for Bijan Robinson, Drake London and an explosive group of skill players.
