Fire crews were busy overnight after a fire — that a fire officials said “was out” — rekindled at a home in West Chester. <\/p>\n
According to Dave March of the West Chester Fire Department, a pair of incidents at the same property along the 500 block of West Deer Point Road in West Chester are under investigation after a fire at that home rekindled overnight. <\/p>\n
He said crews first responded to the home at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday to find “heavy fire conditions” at the two-story home. <\/p>\n
During their first visit to the property, March said, crews spent about three hours at the scene working to extinguish flames that caused parts of the building to collapse. <\/p>\n
But, he said, after several hours, the fire was extinguished. <\/p>\n
“The fire was out,” March said. <\/p>\n
And, he said, the family that lived at the home had gotten out and no one was injured. <\/p>\n
But, then a few hours later, around 1 a.m., March said, crews were called back to that same property after the fire reignited. <\/p>\n
This time, he said, crews returned to find the home “fully engulphed” in flames. <\/p>\n
No one was hurt in this incident either, as he said.<\/p>\n
The family who owned the home has been displaced and is staying with family members, said March. <\/p>\n
Asked what may have led to the fire restarting, March said that the cause of both incidents was still being investigated. <\/p>\n
He was also unsure if the home had any fire alarms. <\/p>\n
Investigations into these incidents, he said, were ongoing. <\/p>\n
