Butler Twp. Police have charged a Scranton man in connection with a theft from his workplace.<\/p>\n
Daniel T. Brennan, 61, was charged with felony retail theft and receiving stolen property following a series of thefts last year at Best Cigar Prices & Pub, located on Hillside Drive in Butler Twp.<\/p>\n
According to a criminal complaint, an employee was reviewing video of an inventory movement when he observed Brennan concealing cigars in his personal travel case.<\/p>\n
Through an investigation it was revealed that on five occasions during July and August Brennan removed a total of more than 600 cigars, accessories and company apparel from the retail store area.<\/p>\n
The thefts resulted in a total loss of $9,055.<\/p>\n
Brennan had only been employed a short time before the thefts were discovered.<\/p>\n
Brennan surrendered to police on Tuesday and was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Daniel O\u2019Donnell who set bail at $20,000.
