Someone trying to steal a car was shot by a resident Tuesday morning in Catasauqua, according to officials.<\/p>\n
The alleged car thief was interrupted by a resident, who fired a number of rounds, hitting the suspect at least once, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said in a news release Wednesday. The person who was shot fled in a private vehicle and was taken to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n
The incident happened about 1 a.m. on Second Street, according to the DA\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
They received treatment for their injuries, which they are expected to survive, the DA said. They were still in the hospital as of Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The incident is still under investigation.
