BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police say an Allentown man crashed into parked vehicles as he led police on a pursuit, then ran away from officers.<\/p>\n
Devon J. Legrand faces multiple charges, including 2 felonies, according to a news release from state police.<\/p>\n
Troopers tried to make a traffic stop on a car Monday shortly before noon\u00a0in the area of Central Boulevard and West Market Street in Bethlehem for vehicle code violations, state police said.<\/p>\n
After troopers activated the lights and siren of a marked PSP patrol vehicle, the car failed to yield to troopers and a pursuit ensued east on West Market Street for approximately five blocks, according to state police.<\/p>\n
State police said the car crashed onto numerous parked vehicles on West Market Street before becoming disabled in the roadway.<\/p>\n
Both the driver and passenger of the car ran away from the scene, state police said. Troopers apprehended the car’s driver, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
According to state police, the passenger has not been found at this time.<\/p>\n
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and identified as Legrand, state police said.<\/p>\n
Legrand was taken to the hospital for his injuries.<\/p>\n
Legrand was bedside arraigned Tuesday, and bail was set at $15,000, according to the news release. Legrand was remanded to the custody of the Leigh County Sheriff\u2019s Department pending release from the hospital.<\/p>\n
