The Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley<\/a> will relocate from its Emmaus headquarters to a larger facility in Allentown<\/a> beginning in March 2026, expanding its capacity to serve families struggling to feed their pets.<\/p>\n

The organization, which has operated from Emmaus for the past decade, currently helps more than 3,000 pets each month. As the only stand-alone pet food bank in the region, the nonprofit distributes thousands of pounds of pet food and supplies to families facing economic hardship.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have loved our time in Emmaus, but the need for our services is growing every month,\u201d said Amy Kocis, executive director. \u201cMoving to Allentown places us in a more central location for many of our families, ensuring that no pet in the Lehigh Valley has to go hungry or be surrendered to a shelter due to financial hardship.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new location at 417 N. 14th St. in Allentown will open for operations in March 2026. Until then, all pet food distributions will continue at the current Emmaus location through January and February. The organization has asked that visitors and donors not visit the Allentown site before the March opening to ensure a smooth transition.<\/p>\n

Founded in 2005, the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley requires recipients to provide proof of spay or neuter procedures, vaccinations, and licenses as part of its standards for responsible pet ownership. The nonprofit serves families across Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
