The city says it’s a matter of finding a middle ground between driver safety and providing adequate parking in certain sections of the city.<\/p>\n
“There’s no stoplight between Greenwich Street and Windsor Street, so people are speeding,” Miller said.<\/p>\n
Councilman Miller says taking parking spaces away helps drivers but hurts people who live nearby.<\/p>\n
“They’ll be happy to see something happening with this issue. I’m sorry it took three years, but it was tried on Hampton Boulevard and didn’t work there either,” Miller said.<\/p>\n
“People come out of work and they ain’t got nowhere to park,” said Alfredo Torres, who lives nearby.<\/p>\n
