BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Friday night it was calm and quiet in the area of Lehigh and 12th streets in Bethlehem Township. Neighbors say that’s the way it normally is.<\/p>\n
Paul Smith and his wife just moved to the area two months ago.<\/p>\n
“It’s been a very quiet neighborhood,” he said.<\/p>\n
Doris Houser has lived in the area for longer, and says the same.<\/p>\n
“Up here it’s quiet,” she said. “But this is a mainly older neighborhood also.”<\/p>\n
Just the night before though, the likes of the bomb squad, FBI, local police and fire departments and more agencies flooded the area<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n “A truck came by, I thought for sure it would be an ambulance,” Smith said. “And I noticed it said bomb squad on the side.”<\/p>\n “It’s kind of crazy,” Houser said.<\/p>\n Police say 69-year-old Daniel Bissey had been arrested two nights prior, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n According to an affidavit, Bissey got mad at his wife about a can of food in the sink, and after arguing, he allegedly threw the can at her face, injuring her nose. The papers say he then injured her shoulder.<\/p>\n Bissey allegedly said “I am going to kill everyone” multiple times, before holding a 9-millimeter hand gun, while watching his wife pack. The affidavit says his daughter and granddaughter \u2014 a minor \u2014 were there as well.<\/p>\n Bissey also allegedly said that he had “200 bullets which is more than the number of cops.”<\/p>\n
