PennDOT<\/a> maintenance crews will conduct a series of road work projects across Lehigh County<\/a> starting Sunday, Jan. 18 through Friday, Jan. 23 with motorists expected to encounter lane restrictions and flagging operations on several major roadways through the end of next week.<\/p>\n

The work includes crack sealing, brush cutting, and bridge repair at 12 locations throughout the county. All projects will take place during daytime hours from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and rain will not cause delays, according to PennDOT.<\/p>\n

Crack sealing operations will begin Sunday on Trexlertown Road in Upper Macungie Township between Spring Creek Road and Hamilton Boulevard. The work will continue through Jan. 23 on Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township between Weilers Road and Route 222.<\/p>\n

Starting Monday, crews will conduct crack sealing on Route 29 from the Berks County line to Cedar Crest Boulevard and on Kings Highway in Lower Milford and Upper Milford townships between the Bucks County line and Chestnut Street. Additional crack sealing is scheduled for State Avenue and Lehigh Street in Allentown and Emmaus Borough between Main Street and Saint John Street from Monday through Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Bridge repair work is scheduled for Route 143 and Kings Highway in Lynn Township between Madison Street and Mosserville Road from Tuesday through Thursday.<\/p>\n

Brush cutting operations will take place on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township between Routes 329 and 873 on Jan. 19 and on Shankweiler Road in North Whitehall Township between Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard from Tuesday through Thursday.<\/p>\n

A shoulder restriction is planned for Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township between Memorial Road and Mountain Road on Monday.<\/p>\n

Most locations will have lane restrictions with flagging, while some will have lane restrictions only. Motorists can check current road conditions by visiting www.511PA.com<\/a> or calling 5-1-1. The free service, available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. The 511PA smartphone application is available for iPhone and Android devices.<\/p>\n
