An 11-year-old boy in Pennsylvania is accused of killing his father after his Nintendo Switch was taken away.<\/p>\nDUNCANNON, Pa. (WGAL) – Police in Pennsylvania said an 11-year-old is facing homicide charges after he allegedly shot and killed his father.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, the shooting happened after the boy\u2019s Nintendo Switch was taken away from him.<\/p>\n
Police received a call at about 3 a.m. earlier this week about a man with a gunshot wound at a South Market Street home.<\/p>\n

The Perry County District Attorney\u2019s Office said police found 42-year-old Douglas Dietz dead from a gunshot.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement took a child into custody after Dietz\u2019s body was found. Police described the child as a \u201chousehold member\u201d and identified the 11-year-old son as the suspect.<\/p>\n
It is unclear if any other children live there.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were kind. I didn\u2019t talk to them much, but they kept to themselves over there and just seemed pretty nice. I didn\u2019t expect this,\u201d Jesse Weldon said.<\/p>\n
Weldon lives just down the road and was outside during the Pennsylvania State Police investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou hear about it, but like not right next door to people, you know?\u201d Weldon said.<\/p>\n
Neighbors who spoke off camera said this street used to be a tight-knit community, but not many know each other nowadays.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s stupid. I\u2019m 48 and I remember the \u201890s, and when stuff was just transitioning, technology and from now back to then, so much has changed. It was hate, so much hate,\u201d Weldon said.<\/p>\n
The child was denied bail and is due in court on Jan. 22.<\/p>\n
