The Banana Ball league sells out venues with its blend of real baseball, acrobatic antics and dance routines. The Loco Beach Coconuts and the Firefighters will play two games on May 22-23 at the Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders\u2019 stadium in Moosic.<\/p>\n
All 10,000 seats are expected to sell out for each game.<\/p>\n
\u201cBanana Ball is going to be such a fun event at PNC Field,\u201d Shawn Reilly, the RailRiders\u2019 president and general manager, said via email. \u201cWe have not seen anything of this magnitude over the last few years. The popularity of Banana Ball is still growing and it\u2019s a thrill watching the fervor build.\u201d<\/p>\n
Former Philadelphia Phillie Shane Victorino, who won the 2005 International League MVP trophy as a Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre Red Baron, is a \u201cprime time coach\u201d for the Coconuts. He doesn\u2019t come to every game and it isn\u2019t known if he will attend.<\/p>\n
The main chance to buy tickets required entering a free lottery in October. The lucky and unlucky recently got the news by email. Season ticket holders who paid their RailRiders bill by Dec. 19 were automatically added to the pool of lottery winners. Around 85% of season ticket holders have expressed interest.<\/p>\n
Lottery winners and season ticket holders can log on to the Bananas sales website beginning Jan. 28 to try to buy up to five tickets, beginning at $35. Act promptly, said Adam Marco, the RailRiders director of communications. Tickets are not guaranteed.<\/p>\n
