The Commonwealth Financing Authority will support four critical infrastructure and utility projects with $2.65 million in funding. This funding will cover projects across Erie County and Representatives Bob Merski and Pat Harkins have announced the project funding.<\/p>\n
\u201cInfrastructure investments are essential to public safety and economic vitality,\u201d Merski said. \u201cThese awards will improve waterfront access, strengthen local roadways, and ensure reliable water and sewer service for our neighborhoods.\u201d<\/p>\n
Harkins added \u201cWhen we invest in projects that connect people and protect essential services, we\u2019re investing in stronger communities. I\u2019m pleased to see these funds put to work for Erie County residents.\u201d<\/p>\n
The approved funding includes:<\/p>\n
$1.4 million\u00a0to the Erie Western PA Port Authority to allow for upgrades and an extension of the East Bluffs shared path. This will enhance travel for pedestrians and bicyclists along the Erie waterfront.<\/p>\n
$500,000\u00a0to Wesleyville Borough for Phase 2 reconstruction of Euclid Boulevard, including roadway, sidewalk, and bike-route improvements.<\/p>\n
$500,000\u00a0to the Summit Township Water Authority for replacement of water infrastructure along Hershey Road.<\/p>\n
$250,000\u00a0to the Harborcreek Township Sewer Authority for the Harborcreek Village project to advance local sewer and related improvements.<\/p>\n
All grants were awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund, the Small Water and Sewer Fund which had been both administered through the CFA providing support targeted to promote economic development and maintain safe transportation networks for Pennsylvanian residents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Commonwealth Financing Authority will support four critical infrastructure and utility projects with $2.65 million in funding.
