{"id":92173,"date":"2026-01-21T01:43:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T01:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/92173\/"},"modified":"2026-01-21T01:43:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T01:43:07","slug":"pa-lawmakers-announce-grants-is-your-town-on-the-list-pennsylvania-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/92173\/","title":{"rendered":"Pa. lawmakers announce grants: Is your town on the list? | Pennsylvania News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pennsylvania lawmakers are announcing grants awarded to boroughs and townships in their districts, including more than a million dollars to the Lehigh Valley International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>One round of grants comes from the PA Small Water and Sewer program, which gives money for water, sewer, stormwater and flood control projects.<\/p>\n<p>Another round of grants is from the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which awards funding for transportation improvement projects.<\/p>\n<p>A $1.3 million grant will go toward the construction of a new parking garage connected to LVIA, in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at other grant-funded projects, by county, as announced by local lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>BERKS COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Maxatawny Township Municipal Authority \u2013 $389,160 to repair a water storage tank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Tilden Township \u2013 $150,000 to rehabilitate a water storage tank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; West Reading &#8211;\u00a0$400,000 to support watermain replacements<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Windsor Township \u2013 $150,000 to control stormwater runoff around Mountain Road.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Wyomissing &#8211;\u00a0$454,922 to support the second phase of the Lincoln and Brandywine flood mitigation project<\/p>\n<p>Multimodal Transportation Fund grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; West Reading &#8211; $543,180 to repair the curb and add a handicap access ramp to Playground Drive; and $132,047 to install a rapid flashing pedestrian crossing device at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Pine Street\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BUCKS COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Riegelsville Borough was awarded $238,653 for its public water supply emergency generator project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; East Rockhill Township was awarded $210,000 for the refurbishment of its waste water treatment plant south aeration tank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Telford Borough Authority was awarded $389,114 for the county line road low pressure system grinder pumps purchase project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Springtown Water Authority was awarded $419,665 for improvements to its fire protection and water distribution systems.<\/p>\n<p>CARBON COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Beaver Meadows Borough \u2014 $284,622 for utility improvements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Bowmanstown Borough Authority \u2014 $100,000 for a booster pump station upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Jim Thorpe Borough \u2014 $100,000 for water line improvements along Front Street.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Lansford Coaldale Joint Water Authority \u2014 $100,000 for well pump and pump house improvements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Nesquehoning Borough Water Authority \u2014 $100,000 for improvements to West Estates water system.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Summit Hill Water Authority \u2014 $117,009 to replace a bridge.<\/p>\n<p>LEHIGH COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;Macungie Borough Authority was awarded $348,239 for Phase II of the Buttonwood St. water main replacement project.<\/p>\n<p>Multimodal Transportation Fund grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; City of Allentown was awarded $800,000 for Phase II of the MLK Trail extension project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Lower Macungie Township was awarded $186,700 to construct pedestrian safety improvements along Brookside and Princeton Roads as well as $322,134 to install ADA ramp and curb improvements within three neighborhoods.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; North Whitehall Township was awarded $462,027 to replace the Rockdale Road Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>MONROE COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Stroudsburg: $250,000 to be used toward an infrastructure slip lining project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; East Stroudsburg Borough: $136,448 for a wastewater new roof project and $73,095 for security cameras.<\/p>\n<p>Multimodal Transportation Fund grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Stroudsburg Borough will receive a $600,000 Multimodal Transportation Fund grant to help repave six roads and install ADA-compliant curb ramps and sidewalk tie-ins.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; The Pocono Mountains Industrial Park Authority, on behalf of Greenwood Creek Personal Care Home, was awarded $250,000 toward the construction of a center turning lane along Milford Road in Middle Smithfield Township.<\/p>\n<p>NORTHAMPTON COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Palmer Township Stormwater Authority: $381,551 for the 25th Street culvert replacement project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Hellertown Borough Authority: $173,119 for an inflow and infiltration project, and $125,000 for a water main lining project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Glendon Borough: $115,907 for pump station upgrades.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; City of Easton: $100,000 for the Washington and Grant Street CIPP lining project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Hellertown Borough: $50,000 for Reinhard and Dimmick Park stormwater channel improvements.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Wilson Borough: $35,000 for a sanitary sewer rehabilitation project.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;\u00a0Bangor Borough Authority: $150,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Bethlehem Township Municipal Authority:\u00a0$200,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; East Bangor Borough Municipal Authority, WWTP Upgrades Project: $200,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Portland Borough Authority:\u00a0Portland Borough Authority PA Small Water and Sewer Grant Application: $40,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; City of Easton, Larry Holmes Drive Safety Improvements (Phase 1 &amp; 2): $250,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Forks Township, Pavement Rehabilitation and Safety Improvement Project: $442,716<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Lower Nazareth Township, Township Line Road Rehabilitation: $1,250,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Palmer Township, Northwood Farms to Fox Run Park Trail Gap: $225,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Skyline Investment Group Easton, LLC, Dixie Cup Site Regional Pedestrian and Bicycle Trail Connector: $625,000<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Wilson Borough, Wilson Borough Roadway and Pedestrian Access Improvements Project: $400,000<\/p>\n<p>SCHUYLKILL COUNTY<\/p>\n<p>PA Small Water &amp; Sewer Program grants:<\/p>\n<p>&#8212; Orwigsburg Borough \u2013 $207,369 to replace the influent screen at the borough\u2019s wastewater treatment plant.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;
