Lehigh Valley International Airport<\/a> recorded its busiest year in history in 2025, with more than 1 million passengers and air cargo volume that exceeded 300 million pounds.<\/p>\n

Both were record highs, according to the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority that owns and operates the airport outside Allentown. <\/p>\n

The airport served 1,067,114 passengers in 2025, a 5.4% increase from the 1,012,124 passengers who traveled through ABE in 2024. This marked the second consecutive year with air travel of more than 1 million passengers at the airport; prior to 2024, 2004 was the last time<\/a> Lehigh Valley eclipsed the 1 million passenger mark for the calendar year. The previous record for the most passengers in a year at the airport was 1,041,442 in 2000, authority spokesman Colin Riccobon said<\/p>\n

The facility in 2025 also processed 301,979,109 pounds of air cargo, marking a 21% increase from the previous year\u2019s 249,609,324 pounds. The prior record for the most air cargo handled at the airport was 275,605,699 pounds in 2023, Riccobon said.<\/p>\n

Stoudt, executive director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. \u201cBeyond the expansion of flight options, ABE has made significant investments to enhance the passenger experience. We appreciate the dedication of our airport staff and their strong commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service.\u201d<\/p>\n

The airport achieved several milestones in 2025. Newsweek Readers\u2019 Choice Awards recognized ABE<\/a> as one of the best small airports for a second consecutive year. The facility celebrated 20 years of partnership with Allegiant Air, which also launched nonstop flights to Fort Myers, Florida<\/a>.<\/p>\n

ABE became the first airport in Pennsylvania to implement GoodMaps<\/a>, an indoor navigation tool designed to improve accessibility. Construction also began on a Courtyard by Marriott hotel at the airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stoudt said the cargo figures demonstrate the airport\u2019s importance to regional logistics.
