PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WHTM) \u2014 A man was rescued from a frigid Allegheny County river Wednesday after authorities said he dove in after bringing a $30,000 harp down to the river.<\/p>\n

This happened at Point State Park in Pittsburgh, at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.<\/a><\/p>\n

A man, authorities said, brought a full-size harp to the riverbank \u201cbefore disrobing and jumping in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh first responders and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rangers were called and rescued the man, taking him to an area hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

The harp, authorities said, is worth $30,000 and police are investigating whether he owned the instrument.<\/p>\n
