READING, Pa. \u2013The Berks County Commissioners heard a report at their meeting Thursday morning where Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Barnhardt said the county\u2019s operations department has been engaged since Wednesday preparing for the winter storm forecast for this weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ve been working with facilities, human resources, legal, the public relations officer, with the 24\/7 operations, as well as the courts, to prepare for the storm,\u201d Barnhardt said. \u201cWe’ve been in touch also with the City of Reading since we are right in the heart of the City of Reading and hundreds of people, not only employees, but folks come in here for services\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe’re engaged with all those as well as the South Campus, owned by the Redevelopment Authority, in preparation for the storm,\u201d he said. \u201cWe will continue to keep the public updated on our website, in the news outlets, as well as Berks Alert Technology. We’re anticipating a pretty heavy storm and everybody’s getting ready and prepared for it. So, we’ll keep the board and the public apprised.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018It looks like it’s going to hit us, it\u2019s just a magnitude of how much it’s going to hit us,\u201d Barnhardt added. \u201cIt’s not going to veer one way or the other; it’s coming.
