Upper Darby School District acquires shuttered Delaware County Memorial Hospital<\/p>\n

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) — It’s a done deal. The Upper Darby School District bought the shuttered Delaware County Memorial Hospital.<\/p>\n

A judge signed the deal with Prospect Medical Holdings for $600,000.<\/p>\n

The hospital shut down in November of 2022.<\/a><\/p>\n

The district wants to tear down the building and use the property for future educational needs, like a possible STEAM-focused extension of the high school campus.<\/p>\n

This was a deal that had to be closed by August 13, or Prospect would have been able to abandon the property.<\/p>\n
