The Pennsylvania high school football season is entering its final week, as many of the top programs in the Keystone State will be in action.<\/p>\n
La Salle College<\/a>\u00a0remains the No. 1 team in the state after a 54-17 win over Cardinal O\u2019Hara<\/a>. Following the Explorers in the ranks is\u00a0Central Catholic<\/a>,\u00a0St. Joseph\u2019s Prep School<\/a>,\u00a0Malvern Prep<\/a>\u00a0and Peters Township<\/a>, respectively. <\/p>\n Which other Pennsylvania high school football teams make the list in our latest set of Top 25 rankings heading into the last week of the regular season?<\/p>\n The\u00a0Massey Ratings<\/a>, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory. <\/p>\n Here is the latest Pennsylvania high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 20.<\/p>\n 1. La Salle College (7-1)<\/p>\n The La Salle College Explorers just edges out\u00a0Central Catholic<\/a>\u00a0for the top spot in the state of Pennsylvania after they cruised to a 54-17 win over Cardinal O\u2019Hara<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n The Explorers has bounced back nicely after Sep. 26\u2019s loss to\u00a0Roman Catholic<\/a>, 39-36, now having won three games in a row. <\/p>\n Senior quarterback\u00a0Gavin Sidwar<\/a>, a\u00a0Missouri<\/a>\u00a0commit, 20 of 34 for 324 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-20 win over No. 4 St. Joseph\u2019s Prep School back on Oct. 4. <\/p>\n Next up for the Explorers is a road matchup against Father Judge<\/a> (3-6). <\/p>\n 2. Central Catholic (8-1)<\/p>\n Make it eight-straight victories for the Vikings, with the team rolling to a 48-6 romp over\u00a0Seneca Valley<\/a>.\u00a0Central Catholic<\/a>\u00a0has been one of the state\u2019s hottest teams as they\u2019ve won eight consecutive wins since losing to\u00a0La Salle College<\/a>\u00a0at the beginning of the season.<\/p>\n Vikings\u2019 sophomore quarterback\u00a0Owen Herrick<\/a>, who completed 104 of 186 passes for 1,514 yards, 11 touchdowns and one interception. Another player that has had a strong season for Central Catholic is junior running back Roman Thompson, who has rushed for 616 yards and 20 touchdowns.<\/p>\n 3. St. Joseph\u2019s Prep School (4-4)<\/p>\n The\u00a0St. Joseph\u2019s Prep School<\/a>\u00a0Hawks were coming off a 31-20 loss to No. 1 La Salle College a few weeks ago and needed to bounce back and now has won consecutive games.<\/p>\n Hawks were able to get back into the win column when they just squeaked by\u00a0Roman Catholic<\/a>, 40-39, last week. Playing a national schedule certainly has impacted the overall win\/loss record for the team, but make no mistake that this is still one of Pennsylvania\u2019s top high school football teams.<\/p>\n St. Joseph\u2019s Prep looks to make it three straight victories this week when they take on\u00a0Cardinal O\u2019Hara<\/a> (5-3) at Franklin Field.<\/p>\n 4. Malvern Prep (6-1)<\/p>\n After starting the Pennsylvania high school football season with a loss to\u00a0La Salle College<\/a>\u00a0over in Ocean City, New Jersey,\u00a0Malvern Prep<\/a>\u00a0has reeled off six straight victories since then and is on a roll heading into the final week.<\/p>\n The Friars are coming off a 48-11 thumping of Haverford School<\/a>, leaving them now sitting at 6-1 with three contests to go against\u00a0Episcopal Academy<\/a>,\u00a0William Penn Charter<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Springside Chestnut Hill Academy<\/a>.<\/p>\n 5. Peters Township (9-0)<\/p>\n Making their way into the Top 5 that wasn\u2019t in from a week ago are the Peters Township<\/a> Indians (9-0), which are coming off a 61-0 rout of Baldwin<\/a>. <\/p>\n The Indians feature multiple Division I recruits on the team, including seniors Reston Lehman<\/a> (Pittsburgh commit) and Lucas Shanafelt<\/a> (Stanford commit). <\/p>\n Peters Township has a chance to finish off the regular season undefeated at 10-0 when they welcome Bethel Park<\/a> (7-2) into town. <\/p>\n 6.\u00a0Pine-Richland<\/a>\u00a0Rams (8-1) 11.\u00a0North Allegheny<\/a>\u00a0Tigers (7-2) 16.\u00a0Chester<\/a>\u00a0Clippers (8-0) 21.\u00a0Northwestern Lehigh<\/a>\u00a0Tigers (9-0)
