Josh Shapiro’s administration held a press conference Friday afternoon about the commonwealth’s preparations ahead of a major snowstorm this weekend.At 1 p.m., officials from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission outlined readiness measures and coordination plans. \u201cWe are expecting the most significant statewide winter storm in years,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll.Starting at midnight Saturday and Sunday, there will be a tier 4 vehicle restrictions across all interstates. On roadways with Tier 4 restrictions in place, no commercial vehicles are permitted. Additionally, all school buses, commercial buses, motor coaches, motorcycles, RVs\/motorhomes and passenger vehicles (cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, etc.) towing trailers are not permitted on affected roadways while restrictions are in place.
