PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — Steve Jamison dreamed of opening a shoe store since he was a kid. He made his dream come true in 2007 by opening Blue Sole Shoes on Chestnut Street in Center City.<\/p>\n
Over the past 18 years, he’s overcome challenges such as the financial crisis in 2008 and vandalism surrounding the protests in 2020.<\/p>\n
But his most recent challenge created an opportunity to turn lemons into lemonade.<\/p>\n
As seen in video surveillance, Jamison’s storefront window was shattered by a person seemingly throwing bricks.<\/p>\n
It was an upsetting sight for both Jamison and his customers.<\/p>\n
So, he came up with an idea to change the conversation to something more positive.<\/p>\n
Jamison cut a boot in half and glued it to either side of the window, creating an eye-catching piece of art for passersby to discuss and enjoy.<\/p>\n
He says it’s an example of finding a creative solution to the many challenges life throws your way.<\/p>\n
