\n\t\t\t\t\t\tNot everybody is dreading the snowstorm that\u2019s projected to come this weekend. \u201cEverybody\u2019s scared, panicking, and doing their doomsday shopping,\u201d Brandi Smith said. \u201cI\u2019m stoked about this. I grew up at Seven Springs Resort for a lot of years as a kid.\u201d Smith is one of many taking to local ski resorts to enjoy whatever this weekend brings. Some people are scared, but not because of the snow. \u201cWe are so happy because I\u2019ve never tried snowboarding,\u201d Yasin Altys, of Turkey, said. \u201cI\u2019m a little scared. We came here. We\u2019re all friends. We\u2019re just chilling.\u201dIt\u2019s not just people taking to the mountains who are excited. \u201cAny time you can get that much snow around here, it\u2019s rare, but definitely a positive,\u201d Max Connor, owner of Thrifty Ski Rental, said. \u201cThis helps a lot. We\u2019re a very weather-dependent business.\u201d \u201cPeople love to come out and ski fresh snow,\u201d Brett Cook, general manager and vice president of Seven Springs, Laurel Mountain, and Hidden Valley Resorts, said. \u201cAny time we get natural snow, we get a little giddy inside. We always do see a bump in visitation.\u201dSeven Springs, Laurel Mountain, and Hidden Valley are all welcoming guests this weekend. \u201cWhen you see natural snow like this in your backyard, you immediately think of skiing and snowboarding,\u201d Cook said. \u201cWe extended hours at Hidden Valley. We\u2019re operating at Laurel Mountain on Monday. That\u2019s normally a day that we\u2019re closed. Some people are canceling, some are booking. We do have room across all three of our resorts.\u201d Visitors were taking advantage of nearby businesses on Friday before being snowed in at the resorts. \u201cWe\u2019re definitely busy,\u201d Connor said. \u201cWe have a lot of staff. We try to get people in and out as fast as possible, but it can get busy. When there\u2019s not snow, we\u2019re not doing so well. We\u2019ll do our best to keep the door available. I don\u2019t know, might pile up.\u201dHowever, none of the owners or managers want anyone to force themselves to come out once the snow comes down. \u201cPlease make sure you make good travel decisions,\u201d Cook said. \u201cDrive smart and do what\u2019s good for you and your family. All our resorts sit on some major U.S. routes. So, those end up getting plowed quickly. We partner with different municipalities, including the Seven Springs Borough, on making sure that we have the roads cleared at the prime time. We\u2019re confident that we\u2019re going to have those areas ready to go.\u201dThe snow may fall on Sunday, but it will be around to enjoy for a while. \u201cWe\u2019re not seeing a warmup anywhere in sight,\u201d Cook said. \u201cThis snow will stick around for a while. We get snow every year, but we don\u2019t have this type of snow. Conditions are going to be unbelievable. We are ready to go for this and stoked to make it happen for all of our guests.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
