Exhibit of young artists\u2019 work opens Feb. 6<\/p>\n

The Everhart Museum of Natural History, Science & Art, in affiliation with the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, is proud to announce the 2026 Scholastic Art Awards American Vision Nominees, Gold Key Award winners, Silver Key Award winners, and Honorable Mentions for the Northeastern PA Region, listed below. An exhibition of all award-winning work takes place at the Museum Feb. 6 through March 1.<\/p>\n
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, established in 1923, is the nation\u2019s longest-running and most prestigious art and writing recognition program for students in Grades 7 through 12. The Everhart has hosted the arts portion of the competition for the Northeastern PA Region since 2018, judging entries and holding an exhibition for award recipients. For 2026, the Museum received over 500 submissions of artwork from junior and senior high school students from over 40 schools within a 15-county area, exceeding previous years\u2019 totals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Scholastic Art Awards honor the remarkable creativity and diligence of young artists across Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is a testament not only to the passion and persistence of the students, but also to the care and commitment of the families, schools, teachers, mentors, and supporters who help them along the way,\u201d said Camille Dantone, Everhart Museum Director of Education and facilitator of the Awards for the Everhart. \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly rewarding to be part of these students\u2019 journeys, and to watch individuals who submit year after year hone their crafts as they head toward graduation.\u201d<\/p>\n
The awards in order of prestige are American Vision Nominee, Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention. All Regional Gold Key Award recipients move on to the national competition to compete for a National Gold Key Award. Five of the Northeastern PA Region Gold Key Award recipients are recognized as American Visions Nominees, which automatically advances them to the national competition to compete for an American Visions Award for their region.<\/p>\n
The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent and present their remarkable work to the world. Through the Awards, students receive opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships.<\/p>\n
