MARS, Pa. \u2014 A new lawsuit claims there\u2019s more to the death of a local businessman. <\/p>\n
Nearly a year later, Donald Miller\u2019s death was ruled a homicide, but no one has been charged.<\/p>\n
\u201cDonnie Miller was a 59-year-old brother, father, son and owned a very successful Miller Plastics business and was involved in racing and had a wonderful life, and it was cut short,\u201d said Attorney Wayne Chiurazzi. \u201cWe want justice for Donnie. That\u2019s the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
Attorney Wayne Chiurazzi and Attorney Al Lindsay just filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of Donald Miller\u2019s son. On January 21, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner ruled Miller\u2019s death a homicide, nearly a year after his death. So far, no criminal charges have been filed.<\/p>\n
PREVIOUS COVERAGE >>> Local business owner\u2019s death ruled homicide<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThere was a motive to have him killed and the motive was financial,\u201d said Attorney Al Lindsay.<\/p>\n The civil lawsuit claims Miller\u2019s wife benefits significantly from his death versus a divorce. Last year, on March 6, Miller went to a home on Broadstone Road in Adams Township. Chiurazzi and Lindsay say Miller\u2019s wife was there with another man, and according to the complaint, that man strangled Miller and told Adams Township police it was self-defense.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s no dispute that he was strangled into unconsciousness, and then there was no first aid administered to Mr. Miller, nor were EMTS called; they waited to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n After several days in a Pittsburgh hospital, Miller was taken off life support on March 12.<\/p>\n \u201cWe only want charges if it\u2019s justified,\u201d said Chiurazzi.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reason we\u2019re ultimately pursuing this is because it needs to be exposed,\u201d said Lindsay. \u201cWe want the facts to come out, and the chips will fall where they may fall, but we believe there is a value to having people know what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Channel 11\u2019s Alyssa Raymond spoke with the Assistant Police Chief of Adams Township.
