ALLENTOWN, Pa. \u2013 The Lehigh County Coroner has released the identity of a young man who died after a shooting in Allentown on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Jeomy M. Soto, 19, of Allentown, was pronounced dead on Thursday at 9:50 p.m. in a local hospital, according to the coroner. He died as a result of gunshot injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The coroner says that the cause of death is gunshot wounds, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Gunshots rang out just after 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Carrot Street, the alley behind Washington Street.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur hearts are with the family, loved ones, and all those impacted by the tragic loss of a young life in our city,” Mayor Matt Tuerk said in a statement regarding the shooting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It is not yet known if anyone has been taken into custody. Authorities are investigating.<\/p>\n
