PennDOT<\/a> maintenance forces will conduct road work across Lehigh County<\/a> starting Monday, Jan. 26 through Friday, Jan. 30, with most projects involving crack sealing on major roadways and lane restrictions during morning hours.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear how the forecasted snowstorm for the Lehigh Valley will impact these projects, but a PennDOT spokesman on Friday said the storm could the schedule of work. <\/p>\n

A PennDOT advisory says work will affect roads in Allentown, Emmaus Borough, Lower Macungie, Upper Macungie, Lower Milford, Upper Milford, Upper Saucon, Lynn Township, and North Whitehall townships. Most projects are scheduled to run between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays through Jan. 30.<\/p>\n

Crack sealing projects will take place on State Avenue and Lehigh Street in Allentown and Emmaus, Route 29 between Berks County Line and Cedar Crest Boulevard, Kings Highway between Bucks County Line and Chestnut Street, and Palm Road and Limeport Pike between Montgomery County Line and Blue Church Road. Additional crack sealing work will occur on Hamilton Boulevard between Weilers Road and Route 222, and Route 100 between Industrial Boulevard and Trexlertown Road.<\/p>\n

Most locations will have lane restrictions with flagging, while some areas will have lane restrictions only. <\/p>\n

Work on State Avenue and Lehigh Street between Main Street and St. John Street will run from Jan. 26 to Jan. 29, followed by work between S. Sixth Street and Main Street from Jan. 29 to Jan. 30.<\/p>\n

Bridge repair work is scheduled on Route 143 between Madison Street and Mosserville Road in Lynn Township from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30. <\/p>\n

Brush cutting will be done on Shankweiler Road between Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30, and on Old Post Road between Routes 329 and 873 from Jan. 26 to Jan. 27. The Old Post Road work will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

In Upper Saucon Township, shoulder restrictions will be in place on Route 309 between Memorial Road and Mountain Road from Jan. 26 to Jan. 27.<\/p>\n

Motorists can check road conditions at www.511PA.com<\/a>, which is free and available 24 hours a day. The service provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. It is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.<\/p>\n
